Social Media Shutdown Ends! Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba Makes Major Announcement

CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has confirmed the fully restoration of Internet in Uganda on all the major Social Media platforms following weeks of limited access during the recently concluded elections.
The CDF shared the good news to Ugandans through his X handle on Monday morning who also said the decision marks a return to normalcy after the tense electoral period and in the post he also thanked Ugandans who remained patient and cooperative throughout the election period.
“We are releasing all social media today. I thank all the great people of Uganda for their support and co-operation throughout this electoral season. You are truly the greatest people on earth and you give us all the courage to serve. God bless you all.”

His announce has also been confirmed with Telecommunication company that also had to send on messages to their customers confirming the full restoration of the internet and access to all Social Media Platforms that were limited and access by users after the use of VPN
As Uganda was going for the General Polls, Internet was shut down by the regulator and citizens had no access to all things that required internet connectivity. Nyombi Thembo who works with the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) warned Ugandan that were likely to use alternative methods i.e. VPN shall be ready to lose their data since it’s not official
After the elections, Internet was restored but social media platforms had remained accessible with VPN which is also now lifted by the regulators in the Country and now online business resumes as normal.
