Nigerian Artist Tems Shares Why She Does Not Visit Uganda

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems has responded to people that always keep asking her about not performing in Uganda since her dramatic arrest in 2020 with Omah Lay as they were booked to perform during covid times.
Tems replied to the comment on X with her photo in Uganda courtroom photo that was taken in 2020 as they were arrested for unlawful performance in Uganda during the Covid 19 pandemic and president Museveni had issued a ban on staging musical shows in Uganda.
Tems and Omah Lay’s arrest ignited a crashed debate between Ugandans and Nigerians with mixed reactions for musicians, fans as well as the political wing from both countries.

The situation seemed disrespectful and eversince that date after being released by court, Tems has never appeared again to Uganda regardless of performing in other African counties even having plans to ever come to Uganda again
After their release, they claimed Bebe Cool raised the concern to police hence their arrest and many turned headed to ask what was really his agenda to get them in police cells.

This very day Last Year, I was sitting in prison in Uganda bonding with women and kids.
I almost can’t believe the things I’ve seen so far.
All I can say is God is too awesome and He will always have the last and final laugh✨🙌🏾🥺— TEMS (@temsbaby) December 13, 2021
